Local Cycle Rides
Cockermouth & Loweswater - this route down the Lorton Valley and along the
River Cocker takes you to Loweswater, a delightful picnic spot and with an optional short cut back from Ullock, saving 8 miles.
Loweswater & Mosser Fell - a lovely ride past this pretty lake and into the
fells with on- and off- road options. The ride can be extended by parking at Whinlatter Visitor Centre and cycling down to the start at
Lorton, but this does involve a long climb back to 318m.
Crummock Water - a good summers day ride with an
adventurous feel, not for the faint hearted!
Cockermouth & Bassenthwaite - this route gets you away from it all, with
spectacular views of Bassenthwaite Lake and on to Keswick, also a good spot for a picnic.
The above four rides were designed by Holiday Lakeland.
