Mad About Mountains is a large website of local photographs by Keswick resident Ann Bowker.
It features a page which changes most days - 'The Lake District - "today's" pictures' - which is a sequence of photos, with captions, of a walk. Most of the walks are within the Lake District, but some extend out to the boundaries of Cumbria with recent walks to the Howgills in Sedbergh, Dent Fell at Cleator Moor, and the St Bees to Whitehaven coast path.
There is an archive of previous walks, including a seperate section of walks covering all the peaks mentioned in Wainwrights seven guides, Wainwright's Lakeland Fells, all indexed as in the guides. There are 360 degree panoramas from the tops of almost all the Wainwright peaks.
In additon to all these are sections on hills in Scotland, Wales, the Isle of Man, and abroad.
For me one of the first tasks when I switch on my computer every evening is to look at Ann's page of "today's walk". Whatever the weather, though winter and summer, Ann is out with her husband, or a group from the Keswick Rambling Club, bringing pleasure to many viewers with her pictures. Some of these pictures have been used on this website, and are in the pages listed below.
