A walking group for people of all ages.
Subscription £4 for all aged over 16 years. Any persons interested are invited to join us on any of the following walks. If they would then like to become members of our group they should apply with the subscription to either of the officers names below. Cheques are to be made payable to “West Cumbria HF local group”.
All walks start at 10.30am at the map reference stated. 15min should be allowed before the start for booting up and briefing. If a walk has no specified leader a walk will still take place. A leader will be chosen from the assembled members and the walk may be amended to suit.
The committee and leaders can accept no responsibility for the safety and well-being of members or guests participating in the activities of the West Cumbria HF local group.
Note - the times below will be reduced in mid-winter.
“A” walks will take up to 5.5 or 6.5 hours of strong walking, including a 1 hour rest allowance.
“B” walks will take up to 4.0 to 5.0 hours medium walking & rest periods taken as required by the walkers
“Fellowship” (F) walks will take up to 5.5 hours of modest pace walking with generous rests designed to
assist the more sociable interests of the members taking part.
In the interest of the safety of walkers and dogs, dogs are banned where indicated in the programme. On all other walks, dogs are discouraged. Members bringing dogs should walk in the rear with their dogs kept on a short lead. The leader may bar any walker, who cannot maintain satisfactory control of a dog, from continuing with the party.
