In previous years there has been ample opportunity for local people to become involved and this year is no different.
Shops, Tearooms, Hotels and Pubs, etc.
Dress up and serve your customers in traditional Georgian style.
Local Groups
- Dress up and take a stall in the local groups area of the market in Bitter Beck Car Park to raise money for your group. Spread the load by getting as many as possible to join in and enjoy the fun.
- Make an entry in the Sedan Chair Races on Memorial Gardens - pub-teams, football teams, mountain rescuers, doctors and nurses, scouts, guides, cadets. It doesn’t matter who - but enter. Teams of five. Entry forms available from Townsfolk and Villagers. Just dress up and come.
What to wear? See our leaflet on how to dress like a Georgian.
To print pages as a booklet print pages 1,3,5, then reverse pages in printer and print 6, 4, 2.
None of the clothes are difficult. Use a bit of ingenuity and see what you can get cheaply at a local charity shop.
Sedan Chair Race :
See the Sedan Chair Race entry form - this year it will be a more open competition, as the Mountain Rescue Team (winners the last two events) will not be defending their prime position. Winners get beer from Jennings!
