Comment : Many years ago I attended a school just outside Cockermouth which is now a caravan park, \'Wyndham house school\'. During the two years I was there I knew a local kid called, Shaun Branigan\'. In later years I met his sister \'Blanch\'. Does anyone know of thier whereabouts now ?

Comment : Hello out there, can anybody please help me, I am trying to trace my dads family all i know is that his father was called John Francis Taylor, he was born in 1934, he married Jean Hollinworth from Tameside, and he died in 1980. Is there a way to find out any information about the family without coming to Cumbria - its a bit of a trek :) Thank you Kim

Comment : Great website, but why no detailed write-up on the pubs in the area? We have some really good ones that deserve wider publicity.

Comment : "Thomas Knight, Esq. is building a handsome mansion for his residence, on some ground lately purchased within or adjoining to the site of the Roman station; many antiquities have been discovered in sinking the foundations." Parishes: Bewcastle - Brigham, Magna Britannia: volume 4: Cumberland (1816), pp. 26-40 I was hoping to find some more information on this house and family. Maybe a photo of the house today if it is still standing.

Comment : Hello Webmaster. Lovely website! I particularly like the almost \'3D like\' photographs that seem to jump out of the monitor screen. It makes you feel as though you are actually in Cockermouth. Quality shines through. What a refreshing change from those rotten websites with tiny, low quality, pics displayed, and flashing adverts for \'smileys\' (whatever those infernal things are!), and casinos, etc, etc. So ~ Great town, lovely people, super website. It\'s all captured in www.cockermouth.org.uk. Well done!
