Praise for an 'amazing venue'

'We booked the top room of Castlebar a few months ago for our wedding in early March 2012. From the first meeting we were blown away by how open-minded and flexible were the owners Jayne and Sean Cusack. We expected to have to make many compromises, having a limited budget and many crazy ideas for our Victorian-themed wedding. We had to make none... They welcomed all our ideas with an extraordinary openness and offered useful suggestions.


'Jayne Cusack distinguished herself by her resourcefulness, taking over some elements, like sourcing black tablecloth or silver serving dishes and even found a recipe of Victorian Punch for our toast! With the help of her talented chefs, she created a special menu made of British specialities made of local produces for us, respecting our budget, and our tastes, which we thought would be impossible. Jayne and Sean even tried to get hold of my husband favourite beer to have it on tap for the wedding!
When it came to decoration, they were again very open & let us decorate their already beautiful room with fresh ivy & paper roses, enabling us to be as creative as we wanted.

'And the big day arrived! The staff were all smiling, kind and very helpful, the room immaculate & with the brilliant suggestions of Jayne Cusack on how to position everything & everyone the day ran as smoothly as can be... and now a few months later, our guests still comment on how amazing the food and the venue was...

So for anyone who is planning an event in Cumbria, go to the Castlebar, you can be assured it will be a success.'
